Pattern Sewing Workshop: Make the Samara Top

Sunday 12th April | 9:30am–3:30pm

Join me for a full day sewing workshop where you’ll learn how to sew from a pattern using the beautiful Tilly & The Buttons Samara Top. This relaxed, friendly class is perfect if you’re ready to move beyond simple projects and start making clothes.

During the day, we’ll cover:

How to take your measurements and choose the correct pattern size

Understanding and cutting paper patterns

Laying out and cutting fabric

Following sewing instructions step by step

Constructing the Samara top with confidence

By the end of the session, you’ll have an understanding of how garment patterns work and the skills to continue sewing at home.

What you’ll need to bring:

Your own sewing machine

Fabric for the Samara Top

The Tilly & The Buttons Samara Top pattern (please purchase this in advance, ideally the paper version as opposed to the PDF)

Basic sewing kit (scissors, pins/clips, thread, etc.)

Skill level:
This workshop is best suited to confident beginners and improvers. You should already know the basics of using a sewing machine (threading it, sewing straight seams, etc.).

Finishing your top:
It’s unlikely we’ll complete the entire top within the workshop time, but don’t worry! You’ll have everything you need to finish it at home.
There will also be an optional 2 hour follow up session on another weekend for £20, where you can get extra support and complete your garment.
